CAPE CORAL, Fla -- Parents and students in Southwest Florida have one final weekend to prepare for the first day of school.
With so many starting the school year out virtually, Fox 4 has put together a checklist to help make sure you get off to a smooth start. We also took some of your questions straight to The School District of Lee County.
When it comes to making sure you're geared up and ready for this next round of virtual learning, hereis an important link to keep handy. Toward the bottom, you're able to download the Distance Learning "I can" Checklist:
It includes things like making sure you can receive messages from School Messenger and making sure you can comfortably navigate Google Classroom.
If you run into any technical issues with your school-issued Chromebook, don't panic. Remember that your School Technology Specialist is there to help.
If the issue can't be resolved virtually, keep in mind that back up devices can help your child stay on track.
There's no need to worry if you don't have a back up device. Simply communicate with your teacher, so they're able to help you make up work that's missed.
Next up, make sure your student is set up near an outlet. It may best for them to be continuously plugged-in throughout the school day. With Lee Home Connect, your child will essentially be on the Chromebook for about seven hours each school day.
The Lee Home Connect Instructional Continuity Plan can be found here, and has an in-depth look at other ways to make sure you and you're child are prepared.
