FORT MYERS, Fla. — From the lock down to sheltering safely at home, the coronavirus is causing another concern these days.

Many are now struggling with sudden weight gain they call the Quarantine 15.

In this morning's segments, Back in Motion Fitness Performance and Physical Therapy in Fort Myers offers a few helpful tips people can do at home.

Owner Dr. Scott Gray says you can start by making healthier choices.

He suggests taking more time to eat and grabbing a drink of water before mindless snacking.

"We've got hormones in our body that get released when we're hungry and when we're full. If you slow down your eating, it takes about 20 minutes for those hormones to be released into the brain so your stomach says I'm not hungry anymore," said Dr. Gray.

If you're stuck indoors or at home, simple exercise can also help with the weight.

People can use their body weight to get a work out and get their heart rate up.

Dr. Gray suggests exercises you can do anywhere, such as squats, push-ups, and burpees.
