The economic impacts of the coronavirus are being felt across the nation. Living in a state that relies heavily on tourism and dining has put many Southwest Florida residents in a position of needing assistance to make it through this economic downturn. Community food pantries are feeding thousands of local families each week.
Below are sites offering food to those in need. These organizations also take donations and many need volunteers if you are looking to make a difference in our community.

St. Matthew’s House

St. Matthew’s House is making sure no one goes hungry this New Years with two food distributions on New Year’s Eve in Lee and Collier Counties:
10 to 11 a.m., Iglesia Pueblo de Dio (People of God) Church in Naples
2 to 6 p.m., Mount Olive AME Church in Fort Myers
(No food distribution this week at First Haitian Baptist Church)
St. Matthew’s House is Increasing its number of food distributions and food distribution sites in January to meet the growing need for food in Lee and Collier Counties.
St. Matt’s has added 3 new food distribution sites and will now distribute food four days a week, instead of three days previously, with Wednesday distributions now added in Immokalee.
