FORT MYERS, Fla. — Giving people a getaway not too far from their front door, Jen Buffington owner of the Dim Jandy Ranch in Fort Myers is partnering up with Gloria Jordan owner of La Trattoria Cafe Napoli to allow the public to have a place to relax and unwind during the pandemic.
“It’s so overwhelming when people come here for them to just feel free, they get away from all that. We're close enough in town but it's like you're far away from town and just to be able to be outdoors and have the property to be able to do that,” said Jen Buffington, Owner of Dim Jandy Ranch.
Sunday nights jazz event with performances by the Batey Latin Jazz Band gives Jordan the opportunity as a restaurant owner to not only expand her business but give the community a sense of socially distanced fun.
“Plenty social distance we have 3 acres, we only brought 70 people because we cared about social distance. It might look empty but that's what we want, we don't want to be in trouble number 1, but I think everybody should be outside and enjoy one another, and that is what made me think this would be the right place,” said Gloria Jordan, Owner of La Trattoria Cafe Napoli
Seeing groups of families and friends socially distanced but enjoying each other's company, gave a sense of the world before the pandemic.
Sandy Ging a guest at tonight's event says the outdoor jazz concert was a perfect example of attempting to reclaim your life, during these tough times.
“For me and my own family, we have been indoors, at home for 2 months so I think that we were ready and felt safe to do an event like this. It just feels good for everyone I think we all needed it,” said Sandy Ging, Fort Myers Resident.
