FORT MYERS, Fla. — If you’ve been indulging in a little more comfort food during the pandemic you’re definitely not alone! Our favorite foods can bring on the warm fuzzies and the only downside is the dreaded COVID-19 that many of us have packed on while staying at home.
Still, it’s the connection to food, not just eating it but creating it, that has helped so many of us through what has been a very difficult year navigating the pandemic, right?
That’s why Morning Anchor, Amy Wegmann, decided to share one of her favorite comfort foods with you! It’s a German dish that she’s been eating since she was a kid. It’s called Frikadellen! She loves it with mashed potatoes, cucumber salad, and spicy German mustard on the side.
Check out the video to see how her family makes it, and here are a few similar recipes if you want to try your hand at it:
Think, burger meets meatloaf meets meatball!
Amy will be showing off even more comfort foods and the stories behind the dishes in the coming weeks; showing you the best SWFL has to offer one restaurant at a time!
If you have any suggestions of places Amy should check out that have an amazing story behind a dish, let her know! You can email her at Amy.Wegmann@fox4now.com.
