Catholic Public Masses to resume with certain considerations

The Bishop of the Diocese of Venice in Florida has announced that mass may resume in Parishes across the Diocese beginning Monday, May 18, with restrictions.

All other non-liturgical activities such as the Knights of Columbus, Men’s and Women’s groups at Parishes remain suspended until it is determined to be safe to resume.

Out of concern for the safety of all involved, the church will follow established directives and guidelines.

These limit the size of the congregation to 25% of occupancy, maintain social distancing guidance, and ask the Faithful’s cooperation to wear face masks and bring with them hand sanitizer for their use.

Those in attendance are also asked to receive communion in hand.

For those who have underlying health conditions or might not be comfortable attending public Masses just yet, daily live streaming from Parishes will continue, and the obligation to participate in Sunday Mass is dispensed through Sunday, June 28, 2020.
