SANIBEL, Fla. — It’s time for Fox Four’s We’re Open, where we show you all the local businesses pushing through the Covid-19 pandemic.

This week, 400 Rabbits had their soft opening on Sanibel Island.

In this morning’s segment, the four partners behind the Mexican restaurant and tequileria tells how their labor of love and community’s support helped amid the pandemic.

“It’s such a dream come true. It really is,” said Debra Kampana, a 400 Rabbits partner. “We knew Covid wasn’t going to last forever and we had to wherewithal just to push through it.”

“The garage door opening up to the patio is just airy. Ironically, it’s perfect for the time. It’s perfect for the pandemic to have this open and that was just luck,” said Don Yamauchi, another business partner.

Their new restaurant serves signature tacos and margaritas on 975 Rabbits Road in Sanibel.
