CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A local restaurant in Cape Coral is lending a helping hand by selling popular grocery items in high demand.
Owner Warren Frye says it's at his two Beef 'O' Brady's on Pine Island Road and Del Prado Boulevard.
He got the idea after seeing many restaurants close their dining rooms, and no longer need food from ready distributors.
Frye decided to buy essential items for the home in bulk, like ground beef, cheese, and hot dogs.
“When I originally rolled this program out, the Publix nearby had probably close to 100 people standing in line to open up the doors in the morning. Imagine standing in line with 100 people waiting to get into the grocery store when all you have to do is call and get a bunch of your items you want and you don’t have to get out of your car," said Frye.
The list of groceries are posted to the local Beef 'O' Brady's Facebook page. It's updated every week on supply and demand.

A local shopper stopping by says she thinks the new service is convenient and helpful.
"Not only can you not find it in the supermarket, they have things here that maybe the supermarket doesn’t. I picked up ground meat today for hamburgers and cheeseburgers at home. It’s a staple at our house that we can’t find and the price is really good, so we’re grateful for that," said Jill Mullin, a local resident.
With a call to order, the groceries are available for curbside pickup at both Cape Coral Beef 'O' Brady's locations.
