LEE COUNTY, Fla. - With a witness in the case making claims that Mark Sievers may've been involved, it has many people wondering what does that mean for Mark, and why isn't he under arrest?
We contacted the State Attorney's Office and did not hear back from anyone there, so we called a former one, Joe D'allesandro.
He tells us it's not a big surprise Sievers is a free man tonight. He says it's not uncommon for investigators to take their time and cross their T's and dot their I's with evidence in a case.
He says just because the finger is being pointed at someone isn't enough to arrest them.
We also reached out to Sheriff Mike Scott and he says
- Mark Sievers remains in the quote "window of suspicion."
- That cases like this require great diligence.
- He adds his office is not bashful about arresting people.
- He also said "nothing's changed" since his last statement case.
