FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Today is the day Star Wars fans have been waiting for! The new "Force Awakens" episode 7 begins showing in theaters Thursday evening, with Friday being the official opening day.
Moviegoers should note, across Southwest Florida, theaters have certain rules that have been put in place for the showings.
Edison 8 theater tells Fox 4 that full costumes and prop weapons will be allowed in the theater, and that they have heightened security for the event, including undercover cops.
Most theaters, however, are allowing costumes but not masks or weapons.
