An East Naples grandmother reported a frightening encounter with two teens Friday, when she told deputies that one of the teens pulled a gun on her right outside her own home. Deputies later arrested Daveion Cortez, 18, and a younger male based on the woman's description of the attackers.

The woman told deputies she was on the patio of her first floor apartment on Saddlebrook Circle when two males rode up on their bikes, asking her if someone named Eric lived there.

According to a report from the Collier County Sheriff's Office, the woman told them no. But one of the suspects reportedly moved closer to her and asked her again.T

That's when she said she rushed to get inside her apartment, and said the suspect tried to inside too, pointing a gun at her and telling her not to move. But she shut the door behind her and called 911.

"He was pointing at me with his gun," she told the dispatcher.

"Where is he now?" the dispatcher asked.

"I don't know, I guess he ran," the caller said.

"Is anybody injured?" the dispatcher asked.

"No, I locked my door right away," the caller said. "I started screaming."

Based on her description, deputies later arrested Daveion Cortez and a younger male at Noah's Landing Apartments a couple of miles away. Cortez faces several charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and attempted robbery.
