CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- If you see unusual police activity around the Charlotte County Justice Center in Punta Gorda Wednesday, it's likely just a training exercise.
The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office says a joint training exercise is scheduled to begin around 5:30 PM and run through 11:30 PM at the justice center. Most of the exercise will take place inside the building, but there may be visible activity outside the building.
There will be signs posted in the immediate area indicating a police training exercise is in progress.
This exercise is in conjunction with Charlotte County Sheriff's Office Crisis Management Team, Special Weapons and Tactical Team, Emergency Response Team/Mobile Field Force (ERT/MFF), the Charlotte County Fire/EMS and the Sheriff's Office Explorers.
