LEE COUNTY, Fla.-- The red tide and blue green algae water crisis in Florida is getting more federal help.
President trump has signed the Water Resources Development Act. The law includes funding for a new reservoir south of Lake Okeechobee to help decrease the water flows along the Caloosahatchee and Saint Lucie Rivers.
The reservoir could take nearly a decade to build so it won't be a quick fix. It'll cost about one-point-three billion dollars to build.
