Nearly $300 million in funding approved to help improve Florida's Gulf Coast water quality

Governor Rick Scott announced more than $291 million in projects to restore and protect Florida's Gulf Coast was approved by the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council.

The Florida's State Expenditure Plan (SEP) is to implement environmental restoration projects across 23 counties from the panhandle down to Key West.

The projects focus on restoring, enhancing and protecting our habitat, water resources, marine resources and shorelines. The plan also mentions projects that will promote community resilience and environmental education, as well as improve science-based decision making processes.
