Businesses can report damage caused by algae blooms in Southwest Florida

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- As ongoing algae blooms continue to be reported along the Caloosahatchee River and estuary, businesses in the area have a new tool to report any losses caused by the green water.

The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity has activated the online survey to evaluate local damages.

Information provided by businesses through this survey will help DEO develop a strategy to provide relief to business owners impacted by the bloom.

The assessment can be accessed at http://bit.ly/AlgaeSurveyHH.  Select "Lake Okeechobee Discharge/Algae Blooms" in the event drop-down menu on the website to complete the assessment.
