FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Three people are in custody after allegedly trying to rob a store then crashing into a Lee County Sheriff's cruiser in their escape.

This happened shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday morning on Ortiz Avenue at Jupiter Road.

Deputies say after robbing a store, the three suspects fired shots at a victim somewhere close to the area. While fleeing the scene they ran into a deputy's cruiser, causing their own vehicle to flip in the process.

No one was injured in either incident.
