FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Lee County Health Department is investigating a suspicious letter containing white powder that was sent to the clerk of courts Monday.
The clerk alerted court security about the letter around 10am, and that sparked responses from several agencies, including the Fort Myers Police Department, the Lee County Sheriff's Office, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Initial tests from the Health Department came back as non-biological, but further results will be released later Monday.
The clerk's office has been cleared for public use again.
