SOUTH GULF COVE, Fla. - On Saturday, February 20, 2016, Peace River Search and Rescue along with Dan Griffith of Florida Sonar Search team made an interesting discovery.
They found a 2006 Chevrolet SUV submerged upright just off the boat ramp at the end of Amicola St.
The SUV was reported stolen in 2007.
The CCSO dive team was called out to recover the vehicle and it was then towed for further processing.
Peace River Search and Rescue was conducting training in the area in furtherance of their mission to assist local, state, military, federal and private agencies in the recovery of lost, missing and abducted persons.
