LEE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fatal accident on Douglas Avenue North Saturday morning.
Troopers say the driver, who had two passengers in the car, failed to stop at a posted stop sign, crossed over 7th Street West, traveled off the roadway and struck a tree.
One passenger had minor injuries, and the other had serious injuries.
Troopers say the driver died on scene, and the crash remains under investigation.
