Sarasota suspect in fatal shooting of 17-year-old turns himself in

UPDATE: Police say Griffin turned himself in in Manatee County on Monday afternoon. He is facing felony charge of Aggravated Manslaughter of a Child.

SARASOTA, Fla. — Detectives are looking for a suspect in a deadly shooting in Sarasota.

Police are looking for 17-year-old James Griffin Jr. in connection to the death of a 17-year-old male early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the 1700 block of Gregg Court at around 12:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they found the 17-year-old shot.

Griffin is facing charges of Aggravated Manslaughter of a Child. He should be considered armed and dangerous according to police.
