HASTINGS, Fla. (AP) - A road construction worker is dead after authorities say he was run over by a street sweeper truck in northeast Florida.
The Florida Times-Union (http://goo.gl/KtJNw5) reports that 69-year-old Everett Leslie Rolfe was killed Friday.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that Rolfe was flagging traffic at a Hastings intersection as the sweeper truck moved through the area. Officials say Rolfe was walking backward when the sweeper's rear bumper hit him. Authorities say the man was dragged under the machine and into its sweeping mechanism.
