WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Police say a Florida man stabbed a co-worker with a machete at a mall food court.
News outlets report 43-year-old Luis Arias was an employee of a company that was hired to clean Palm Beach Outlets mall. Police say Arias became mad with a co-worker about not completing his duties and leaving them for him.
Police say Arias grabbed a machete out of his locker Saturday, chased the co-worker through the mall and food court and stabbed him several times. The victim locked himself inside the security office. He was released from a hospital Sunday.
An arrest report says Arias told police this was the first time he took the machete to work. Arias was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. It's unclear if he has a lawyer who could comment.
