LARGO - A Largo man faces a domestic battery charge for allegedly throwing a hot pizza at a woman holding a child.

Arrest documents say Luis Fernando Mesa, 23, threw the pizza and caused "obvious injuries" to both victims.

In a statement to Largo police, the child said, "Daddy hurt my back with the pizza."

The child, a young girl, had red marks on her back, according to police. The woman sustained burn marks on her elbow.

Mesa denies throwing the pizza.
