LEE COUNTY, Fla—AAA expects more people will hit the roads for Independence Day weekend.
The group says a record-breaking 44.2 million Americans will travel, and that number includes 2.3 million Floridians.
This is an increase from last year, which saw 1.3 Americans travel for the weekend and only 103,000 Floridians.
AAA says the increase is due to lower gas prices, strong employment numbers and rising incomes.
