Lawmakers are partnering with university researchers to vet how Criminal Justice laws could affect communities of color in Florida.

The state senate will spend $200,000 for Florida State University's College of Criminology and Criminal Justice to do the analysis.

Right now, African Americans make up almost half of those in Florida prisons.
