PALM COAST, Fla. (AP) - A Florida man is accused of misusing the 911 emergency system after making multiple calls.

Flagler County Sheriff's deputies arrested 47-year-old John Simes following repeated calls to 911 on Tuesday.

According to deputies, Simes was combative and intoxicated when they arrived at his Palm Coast after receiving four 911 calls in 10 minutes. They found no emergency, but Simes told them he'd called 911 over 20 times.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal (http://bit.ly/1UmEEJV ) reports Simes used explicit language and insulted dispatchers. He also yelled at responding deputies.

The arrest report states that Simes repeatedly threatened the lives of the deputies and their families when he was arrested.

Simes remains in Flagler County Jail. Records don't indicate whether Simes has an attorney. He's been arrested 22 times since 2011, mostly for misdemeanors.
