MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A Miami Beach man has been arrested after authorities say three foreign students who were renting a room from him found hidden cameras in their apartment.
Media outlets report 45-year-old Winston Vargas was taken into custody Tuesday on a video voyeurism charge.
An arrest report shows the three females had moved into the apartment Monday after answering a Craigslist ad to rent a room from Vargas.
The next day, Miami Beach police spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez says the victims found three portable clocks in the bathroom and discovered hidden cameras with a video card inside the clocks. They called police.
Rodriguez says Vargas promised to return their money if the victims didn't prosecute him. He said Vargas denied installing the cameras and said a man from England put them there.
