MIAMI (AP) — A Florida Air Force officer who had been stationed in North Carolina died in southwest Asia from a non-combat-related injury.
The U.S. Department of Defense says 1st Lt. Anais A. Tobar, 25, of Miami, died Monday. Officials didn't immediately release details about her death.
She had been assigned to the 4th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina.
The Department of Defense said in a news release that she was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, which is working to defeat ISIS.
