FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The upcoming "Slide The City" event has been forced to relocate just days before it is scheduled to begin.
The event will now take place at Veterans Community Park on Homestead Road in Lehigh Acres, instead of the Edison Bridge in Fort Myers.
This change comes just a week before the event, scheduled for September 17th.
The company behind the event cites "unforeseen circumstances" as the reason for the change.
Slide The City gives participants the opportunity to ride on a 900-foot long slip and slide in urban environments. Similar events have taken places across the country.
There will also be music, food, and drinks available.
Sliders must be at least 5 years old and over 46 inches tall, and are suggest to bring their own sunscreen, swimsuit, and shoes.
