CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Many singers dream of becoming the next American Idol, but you have to be younger than 29 to compete on the hit show. But age isn't stopping the dreams of some local competitors of a more mature age.
This year's 12th annual Senior Idol took place Friday night at the Lake Kennedy Senior Center in Cape Coral. 13 contestants performed for a crowd and 4 judges who would pick this year's winner.
The top three winners walked away with gift basket prizes, along with the first place winner taking home a karaoke machine.
The winners are as follows:

Second place- Dennis Tucker
Third place- Paulette Presti
