FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Sitting right on the corner of Menlo Road in Fort Myers, you'll find a beautiful white home with the lawn well manicured, along with colorful plants and trees on full display. Its 'For Sale' sign is right on the front lawn, and for just under $600,000, Zachary Kearns wants to buy it.
Kearns' mug shot was taken Sunday morning just after being arrested outside the home for possession of cocaine and DUI. A police report shows the owner of Ford's Garage, The Lodge and other popular restaurants was approached by police outside the house after someone called in a possible burglary in progress.
The report says when the officer met with Kearns in the driveway he "smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Kearns and observed he was slurring his words."
Kearns told the officer he'd made an offer on the house and wanted to see it at night. Officers spoke with the homeowners, who said "Kearns along with several other subjects were pulling on the rear doors to the residence."
A second officer arrived on scene and noticed "Kearns also had red bloodshot watery eyes, had a difficult time answering questions and staying focused."
A female officer searched Kearns and found two small plastic baggies and reported "Inside one of the plastic baggies was a white powder substance, that tested positive for cocaine. The second clear plastic baggie had white powder residue on it."
After officers took Kearns to the booking area he told one cop "Shut the f**k up and I'll beat your a**." He then asked a woman cop if she was single or married and asked her to marry him. Kearns is due back in court in January.
