PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- Troopers say wet roads caused a crash that sent a car into a commercial truck Tuesday afternoon.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, 32-year-old William Frederick was driving a Ford Mustang north on Loveland Boulevard near Moses Court, just before 5 p.m.
That's when troopers say the car hit some standing water, causing it to drive off the road and then rotate back onto the roadway and into the path of a southbound Waste Management truck.
The two vehicles collided, and Frederick died at the scene.
The driver and passenger in the truck reported only minor injuries.
No criminal charges are pending.
The Florida Highway Patrol requests that anybody having information about this crash call 239-344-1730.
