Sea turtle found speared in national park

HOMESTEAD, Fla. — Tonight, detectives are looking for the person who put a spear through a sea turtle's head.

The Biscayne National Park Marine Patrol found the "poached" animal they posted this video on their facebook page.

All species of sea turtles are threatened or endangered.

Sea turtles are a protected species under the Endangered Species Act and Florida's Marine Turtle Protection Act.

The person responsible could face up to a year in prison.
