COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — The number of sea turtles nesting and hatching on Collier County beaches are up!
Environmentalists say there are over 200 more nests this year and over 30 additional hatchlings than last year.
Remember, sea turtles are protected; it is illegal to disturb their nests.
If you live on the beach, you should also make sure to turn off your lights as hatchlings can become disoriented as they make their way to the water.
