COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – The Collier Mosquito Control District says their surveillance indicates a high number of mosquitoes in Ave Maria and Immokalee.
As a result, they plan to treat the area by airplane, dispersing Dibrom on Wednesday night after 10 p.m.
Additionally, their truck will be dispersing a mist of Bti larvicide into containers of standing water after 9 p.m. Wednesday in these areas: Poinciana, Coconut Circle, and River Reach Road.
Remember, mosquitoes breed in standing water, so it's a good idea to empty anything holding water on your property. If you have puddles, you can head to Collier Mosquito Control District offices and pick up some free mosquito fish, which will eat the larvae.
