Florida Fish and Wildlife announce 500th Burmese Python capture in the Everglades

EVERGLADES, Fla. — 500 invasive Burmese Pythons are now out from the wild.

Python hunters Beth Koehler and Peggy Van Gorder captured the 500th snake on Tuesday In the Everglades and Francis Taylor wildlife management area,

The female snake weighed in at 20 pounds 14 ounces and measured over 9 feet long.

Fish and Wildlife pay members of the python action team to survey for and capture the reptiles throughout South Florida.
