BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — A critically endangered sea turtle was admitted to the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife after being rescued from the water near Big Hickory Island with an apparent boat strike.
The injury appeared to be a bit older and has already begun to heal on its own.
After scrubbing and flushing the area to remove dead tissue, sand, and other debris, veterinarians found healthy, healing tissue underneath.
It is uncertain if the turtle can use its back legs and have proper bowel movements.
