FORT MYERS, Fla. — Now that the sludge removal is complete, the CDC has finished collecting groundwater samples at the former toxic sludge site in Dunbar.
The City of Fort Myers says it's relying on the state Department of Environmental Protection to coordinate the testing.
That's expected to be submitted by the middle of June.
City officials say they've been working to make sure the whole block is decontaminated before moving forward with plans for a stormwater management area, a park, and housing.
