SANIBEL, Fla. -- It looks like it's going to be a record-breaking year for the Clinic for the Rehabilitation Of Wildlife.
CROW just admitted it's 4,000th patient of the year. The laughing gull was rescued from Bowman's Beach on Saturday.

The bird had trouble breathing and couldn't stand. Vets believe it had a common fungal infection that can affect seabirds with weakened immune systems.
Sadly, the bird passed away.
So far this year, CROW has seen a 7% increase in patient totals compared to last year. They expect to go over 5,000 patients before the end of the year, which will be a first for them.
