The Palmetto High School Marching Band performed in the inaugural parade, hours after Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States.
"As a parent, I could not be more proud, not just for my son, but for every one of these kids," said Bob Scallon, who accompanied the band to Washington.
Festivities following President Trump's swearing in were delayed for a couple hours. The band didn't pass by the presidential reviewing stand until around 6:15.
"It's been an incredibly long day for them, going through security and standing in the cold for hours," said Scallon.
The band found out just before Christmas break they were invited to the inaugural. They had to raise $135,000 to cover expenses for 235 students, plus chaperones.
The money was raised in about three weeks, thanks to local and national media coverage.
