FORT MYERS, FLa. -- Strolling through downtown Fort Myers, you've likely had a bite to eat at Firestone, Ford's Garage, or Capones. The busy restaurants have gained attention for their good food.
But its owners have gotten attention twice this year for something less desirable.
Zachary Kearns of Kearns restaurant group was arrested for DUI and possession of cocaine Saturday night. "Just another day in paradise. It's part of the business. I think theres a lot of dirty dealings that's going on underneath the table that people don't know about," said Kevin Eastman.
Police did know about Kearns' brother and co-owner of Kearns Restaurant Group, Daniel, driving drunk and having cocaine on him in April 2014 when they arrested him for DUI.
"I owned a bar up in Buffalo New York. I  had to keep in mind that you're a businessman and you're out in front of the community and people see that and it can hurt you big time just by making one simple mistake but we're all human and we all make mistakes," said Tom Reese.
Daniel's mistake hurt him even more when these statements to police in a patrol car were caught on camera. "You know you're a piece of s**t right ? You're an idiot, that's why you have a GED. I own this town, and you work for it," said Kearns.
Now both brothers have been issued charges some have a hard time getting over.  "I've lost a couple friends that way through drunk driving so I'm totally against promoting or encouraging or anything to do with drinking and driving," said Patricia Pertuzzi.
