ORLANDO, Fla. -- More than a thousand people of all denominations joined together at the First Baptist Church in Orlando to honor the victims in the Pulse Nightclub shooting.

"What do you do in the face of such loss and such evil and hatred," Pastor David of First Baptist Church of Orlando asked.

That's why he opened up this sanctuary so memebers of the community come together and supports one another.

"It's an unbelievable season. It's like a dream, we are going to wake up and it didn't happen. But we know it did."

Guest ministers got standing ovations when they said The Word is not about judging but about loving.

"What does love have to do with it? Everything!"

Mayor Buddy Dyer addressed the crowd, saying despite the world media focus on this horrible hate crime, Orlando will not be defined by it.

"We will be defined by our love and unity."

The mayor added that the city will be opening an Orlando family assistance center which will be staged at the camping world stadium.

There they will help families of the victims with funeral arrangements and counseling.
