FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Lee County Sheriff's Office has completed its investigation into the bathroom sex scandal at South Fort Myers High, and none of the boys who engaged in sexual activity will be charged.

The mother of the girl involved does not want to press charges.

However, deputies have arrested one student for recording and sharing the incident. He accepted a diversion program and no charges will be filed against him if he completes it.

Lat month, a 15-year-old girl admitted having sex with several male students in a school bathroom, with at least 25 boys confirmed to have been in the bathroom during the incident.  The act was videoed and shared on social media sites.

The school district has since begun reviewing its supervision protocols in schools.

Meanwhile, Edward Mathews, the assistant principal at East Lee County High is set to become the new principal at South Fort Myers High next school year. The school's current principal, Melissa Layner, is transferring to Bonita Springs Middle Center for the Arts.
