CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- The Cape Coral Police Department officially has a new look. The city manager has just announced interim chief Dave Newlan will become the city's top officer, on a permanent basis.
Chief Newlan replaces former chief Bart Connelly, who retired back in May.
The city manager says Newlan's performance has been exceptional since taking over the department.
Monday, the city council is expected to approve Newland's contract, which will include a $136,000 salary.
