Many Cape Coral residents have been calling into our newsroom about shaking of homes and loud noises this afternoon. The Cape Coral Police say it was likely the result of jet training by the Key West naval base, which authorities say tend to create sonic booms in the area.
Cape Coral police also say they've been getting calls about the booms for about a week now.
But rest assured, it was not an earthquake and you are not in danger.
