One person is dead and another is behind bars following a crash in Golden Gate Estates on Golden Gate Boulevard Saturday night.
The crash happened just after 7 p.m, near 27th ST SW.
Florida Highway Patrol officials say 40-year-old Rene Miles was traveling eastbound when he hit a Dodge Durango in front of him, causing that vehicle to travel into oncoming traffic.
The Durango collided with a Honda Odyssey heading westbound on Golden Gate Boulevard, and caused the Odyssey to flip.
The driver of the Honda, 33-year-old James Riner, II was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Durango is in serious condition at Lee Memorial Hospital.
Miles faces a slew of charges including DUI manslaughter and leaving the scene of a crash with a fatality.
