FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Detectives are now saying the robbery at a Fort Myers McDonald's was staged.
Investigators announced Thursday that they have arrested a second teenager who is a clerk at the McDonald's on South Cleveland Avenue, saying he is a co-conspirator. Detectives say the 17-year-old actually staged Monday's robbery with the suspect, and was more than willing to hand over the money.
Wednesday, detectives arrested a 14-year-old for running up to the restaurant's drive-thru window and using a handgun to rob get cash from the register.
We are not identifying the teens since they are minors.
