The Florida Highway Patrol says a 56-year-old woman was hit by a car Monday evening.
They say the victim, who has yet to be named, was walking in the southbound lane of US 41 near Estero Parkway just after 6:30 p.m. when she was hit.
The driver who hit her stayed on the scene.
The crash is under investigation.
