CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police have arrested a man they say broke into a woman's home in the middle of the night to wish her a happy Valentine's Day.

38-year-old James Karabes-Boeing of North Fort Myers is in the Lee County Jail on charges of Violation of Injunction, Occupied Burglary, Aggravated Stalking, Resisting Officer without Violence, Giving a False name to LEO, and having an Outstanding Warrant.

According to Cape Coral Police, the victim called 911 around 2 a.m. Thursday to report a man in her bedroom. She told investigators that she woke up to Karabes-Boeing's voice, wishing her a happy Valentine's Day. Karabes-Boeing has an active injunction against the victim for stalking that prohibits him from being with 500 feet of her residence.

The victim convinced Karabes-Boeing to leave but officers were able to locate him around 5:30 a.m. sitting on Chiquita Boulevard South after he fled his vehicle on foot.

He initially gave officers a fake name, but he was identified and arrested.
