LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — A Lehigh Acres woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison, with a 10-year minimum/mandatory sentence, followed by ten years of probation.

Titayana Vega, 20, and her co-defendants would place ads, on the now-defunct, Backpage website paid for with Bitcoin cryptocurrency. They posted photos of women they found online.

They would then use different phone numbers generated by a messaging app based in Canada.

Vega would entice the victims to go out and meet up in person.
Once they found a target, they would rob them.

Vega and her co-defendants targeted a family. They entered the home wearing masks, gloves and were armed.

Vega’s co-defendant Eric Minns was sentenced previously to 20 years in prison for his involvement in this case and a second case.

A third co-defendant is scheduled for sentencing next week.
